Linux Client Download ?!
« on: August 01, 2012, 07:26:13 PM »
Hello ,

Do you already have a Linux client?

I am an avid Linux user and do not think WINE so great. How does it look like a native Linux client?

Thank you

True Multiplatform Authoring
Unity 3 lets you target all platforms from a single tool. Within a single project you have complete control over delivery to all platforms.

From:  http://unity3d.com/unity/publishing/

Perhaps that link will help a little.  I'd assume it's a click of a button based on the UNITY website.

EDIT:  I'm going to add-on that I don't know if this means the Linux will be included in beta because rendering may take a while.

There are some challenges but we are working through them. We will be coming out with more information as soon as we can.

Ah! At least some dev team that keeps its promises !
After Torchlight and DrakensangOnline I'm so disappointed.

Swedish people are even more openminded than I thought, thanks to Threegates and Frictionnal Games ;-)
Way to go !

I think you should be thanking Unity for having a Linux pipeline.  I mean, yes, the development team is providing that option.  But if they had coded their own custom engine, I'd imagine it'd be far less likely to be ported.

Cool beans!  Two treats, Linux build is available and we get to see the behind the scenes working of the Unity Engine.  Thank you :)
