Help! Characters Missing
« on: December 14, 2013, 08:23:10 AM »
I started it in the Kickstarter beta, and created a couple of characters to play around with and to also test bugs in the system.  Then I got the steam code and copied the player files to the folder steamapps\common\LegendsOfAethereus\SF003.  I haven't played in a while, but I just stared up since I noted another new patch and I wanted to see if certain bugs were fixed.  I logged into the game and go to play a single player game and both of my characters are missing!  I checked the folders (see above) and the files are all there, but no longer are being recognized.  What gives?  I've attached the player files.

Hello Mcenal,

In the .3998 patch we have updated the save file location to a read/write safe location.
The folder should be something similar to
C:\Users\UserName\AppData\LocalLow-\Threegates\Legends of Aethereus\
if you are running windows OS.

Windows Vista and newer have a standard location for save files: FOLDERID_SavedGames - please use it. For Linux the save files shouldn't really be in the standard Unity location under $XDG_CONFIG_HOME either, but rather under $XDG_DATA_HOME.
